Shipping & Delivery

Domestic Orders
We typically ship items within the contiguous US within one week of payment, or clearance of payment with checks. Please allow up to 20 business days for delivery of items.

The shipping prices indicated on the site include protective packaging, the cost of ground shipping , and handling costs for heavy or bulky items. These charges will be indicated when you place your order.

Ground Shipping is currently the only method offered for online orders. If you would like to discuss expedited shipping or shipping with another carrier, please contact us to make special arrangements.

Single Address
Estimated delivery charges are calculated assuming all items within the order will be shipped to one address using standard delivery charges.

Multiple Addresses
We will gladly ship to multiple addresses. Because shipping to multiple addresses may affect the quoted shipping charge, we will contact you via email to confirm these charges.

Tax is not applicable to orders shipped out of the state of South Dakota. Shipping items in South Dakota will have tax added to the items and the shipping.

International Orders
We will also ship to major international locations. All orders are billed in U.S. dollars.

Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries makes no claim that materials on this site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United States. Accessing our products from territories where they are illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to access this site from restricted locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Duties and Taxes
Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries carries a line of artwork created from natural materials traditionally used in Native American artwork. Customs fees or taxes may be imposed by the country of destination. Any duties and taxes incurred are the responsibility of the recipient and are payable upon receipt of the goods.

Shipping these unique items may also require special documentation and inspections, as well as permission from certain country officials.

Additional fees for international orders will vary depending on the items purchased and final destination country. Charges will vary according to each country; therefore, we are unable to calculate these charges. Please contact your local port authority for more information.

Although we are happy to assist you with your international order, Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries is not responsible for any customs fees or customs taxes imposed by the country of destination.

Regarding In Transit Shipments and Delivery

Once an order has been filled, packaged and collected by the appropriate expeditor such as USPS or UPS, the liability is then transfered to that shipper. If they have finalized the shipment as being delivered and the customer has not received the product, the customer must file the package claim with the appropriate expeditor. Prairie Edge will be more than happy to accommodate information sich as dates, tracking, items shipped and value.

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

We do not sell anything our grandmother's would be ashamed of, and even though each of our products is carefully scrutinized by our buyers and sales team to ensure your satisfaction, we understand there will be times when an item may need to be returned or exchanged.

You may return items* as long as the items have not been materially changed or modified. Returns must be shipped using a trackable method.

*Refunds will include payment minus shipping cost and processing costs. Books, CDs and DVDs are sold as non-refundable items and will not be refunded without prior approval.

If you would like to exchange your art, we are happy to accommodate your wishes, as long as the item remains in very good condition. Any return shipping is your responsibility via a trackable method.

Defective Merchandise
Any merchandise deemed defective upon receipt will be refunded or exchanged at your request.

Account verification
To prevent any unnecessary delays processing your order, please ensure that the billing addresses on your order matches the information on your credit card. If you have recently moved or are unsure whether you receive your credit card statement at your work or home address, please contact your card-issuing bank using the 800 number on the back of your credit card to confirm.

Purchase Orders (schools & organizations)
Prairie Edge requires an official purchase order faxed to 605-348-9624 or emailed to All purchase orders must include the following information:

  1. South Dakota Certificate of Exemption*
  2. Name of School or Organization
  3. Current billing and shipping addresses
  4. Phone numbers
  5. PO number
  6. Authorized signature with date
  7. Itemized list (including description and dollar amount) of each item to be purchased
  8. Total dollar amount (including applicable sales tax and shipping charges)

*A South Dakota Certificate of Exemption must be completed and on file with Prairie Edge or sales tax will be charged.

Cashier's Check or Money Order*

To pay for your purchase using a Cashier's Check or Money Order:

  1. Place your order by calling 1-800-541-2388
  2. Obtain the final dollar total of your order, including tax and any applicable shipping charges, from our customer service specialist.
  3. Confirm that your cashier's check or money order is for the full amount of the order. It is not possible to combine a cash payment with another form of payment for one order.
  4. Make the cashier's check or money order payable to Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries, and include your Web Order Number or a copy of your order.
  5. Mail your payment to:

* Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries must receive your payment within 10 calendar days after your order is placed or your order will be cancelled. Please allow one business day for order processing after Prairie Edge receives your payment.

Privacy & Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. Your Prairie Edge account information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. You need to work to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer by signing off once you have finished using a shared computer.

When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) for registration, Prairie Edge encrypts that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Prairie Edge follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once Prairie Edge receives it.

Once you enter the checkout page your computer will begin communicating with our server in secure mode. You can tell that you are in secure mode by the following:

+ The "http" in the web address will be replaced by "https"
+ Depending on the browser, you will see either a padlock or a solid key in the lower section of the browser window.

Viewing Orders

    1. Review your cart
      Once you're ready to order, click the "Cart" link in the upper right of any page on the Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries website to view your cart. From here, you can change the quantity you want to purchase, view product details, and view estimates of when each item will ship.

      We'll provide you with an estimated total, which includes any shipping charges, taxes, and fees.

      If there are other items you want to purchase, click the "Continue Shopping" button. If you're ready to place your order, click the "Check Out Now" button.

    1. Sign in or continue as a guest
      If you already have a Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries account, sign in using your existing username and password.

      If you are a new user, you can create an account by entering in your email address or checkout as a guest.

    1. Enter shipping and billing information
      To process your order, we'll need you to enter both your shipping address and billing address. All of your items will be shipped to the shipping address you designate. Your billing address should match the information on your credit card account.

    1. Select a payment method
      To find out what Payment methods are accepted on the Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries website, visit the Payment & Pricing section. Make sure that your payment method matches the billing information you have entered and that you include the appropriate security code for a credit or debit card.

  1. Complete checkout
    Once you have finished shopping, and have entered your shipping, billing, and payment information, you're ready to complete checkout. Review your personal and order information to ensure it's accurate, and then click the "Proceed to Checkout" button.

    After you place your order, we'll take you to a Thank You page that contains a summary of your order, including your Web Order Number. Please print this page for your files.

    We'll also send you an Order Acknowledgment email once your order has been processed. You'll receive a Shipment Notification email as each of your items ship.

    The Thank You page and emails contain links to online Order Status. Log in using your username and password to check order status, cancel items, return items, change your order, track a shipment, print an invoice, and more.

Registering or Updating Account Info
    1. My Account
      To sign up for an account, click the My Account link at the lower right hand corner of the header.

    1. Create an Account
      Click Create an Account and follow the prompts to fill out the registration form. You will need the following pieces of information to register:

      + First and Last Name
      + Password: Your password must be at least 6 characters in length. Choose a password that you will easily remember, but isn't too obvious.
      + Email: Each account requires a unique, valid email address.

      When you've entered the required information, click Submit.

    1. Check your email
      Shortly after submitting the registration form, Prairie Edge will send you an email. If you don't receive it within an hour, check to make sure that it hasn't got caught in a spam filter or junk mail folder.

    1. Click confirmation link
      The confirmation email from will contain a special link. To confirm your account, click the confirmation link. If you can't click the link, try copying and pasting the web address (URL) of the confirmation link into your web browser's address bar.

  1. Log In
    When you've successfully confirmed your account, Prairie Edge will send you an email to let you know your account is ready.

    To sign in, go to and click the Log In link at the bottom right of the header. Enter your email address and password.

Update your billing info.
Log in to your Prairie Edge account. Go to Account Info, and follow the link on that screen to change your billing information.

Changing your email address.
Log in to your Prairie Edge account. Go to Account Info, then follow the link to change your email address.

Please keep your email address up-to-date at all times; this is how Prairie Edge will contact you with important information about your account. You cannot re-use an email address that is already associated with another Prairie Edge account.

Adding or changing a mailing address.
Log in to your Prairie Edge account. Go to Account Info, and follow the link on that screen.
